5. Posology and Administration

Allopurinol should be taken orally after meal.
In adults the minimal therapeutic dose is 100 mg daily, the maximal one is 800 mg.
In children under 6 years of age Allopurinol is administered in a daily dose of 5 mg/kg; from 6 to 10 years of age - 10 mg/kg/daily. Repetition factor is 3-4 times daily.
In patients with moderately manifested compromised kidneys functions Allopurinol is administered in a daily dose not exceeding 200 mg.

— primary (idiopathic) hemochromatosis;
— hypersensitivity to Allopurinol.

In children Allopurinol is administered only in event of malignant neo formations (especially leucosis), likewise in some enzymatic disorders (Lesch-Nyhan syndrome).
