- Indications for Use.
Flavoxate is used in event of polyuria and urinary incontinence, in pain reactions and dysury in cases of cystitis and urethritis.
- Action
Flavoxate is a spasmolytic drug. It weakens the tonus of smooth muscles, predominantly, that of urinary tracts.
- Posology and Administration
For oral intake - 100-200 mg each 3-4 times/daily. In proportion to symptoms relief a dose may be reduced.
- Counterindications
— obstructive diseases of urinary tracts;
— pyloric and duodenal block;
— bowel obstruction;
— achalasia;
— gastro-intestinal bleedings;
— glaucoma;
— childhood under 12 years of age;
— pregnancy, lactation period.

Flavoxate should be administered with caution in glaucoma likely patients.
In pregnant women and nursing mothers Flavoxate may be administered only in case of emergency.
Effectiveness and safety of Flavoxate in children under 12 of age has not been determined, for this reason it is not recommended to administer the drug to them.
