- Indications for Use.
Adults: arterial hypertension, hypertensic crisis. Children: experimental drug for the treatment of arterial hypertension.

Labetalol provides a reliable antihypertensive effect.
- Posology and Administration
Children are recommended to take the drug orally: the dose is 3—4 mg/kg/a day in 2 intakes, the maximal dose is 40 mg/kg/a day.
Adults are recommended to take the drug in the form of tablets (during the meal) 0,1 g each (100 mg) 2-3 times a day. When the form of hypertension is bad a dose should be to be increased. An average daily dose is 600-1000 mg in 2-4 intakes. For a supporting therapy 1 tablet each (100 mg) is applied 2 times a day.
When there is a hypertensic crisis (rapid and steep rise of arterial tension) Labetalol should be introduced intravenously slowly in a dose of 20 mg (2 ml of 1% solution).
Intravenous introductions should be carried out in a hospital environment when a patient takes the lying position (because of rapid and significant fall of arterial tension).

Labetalol is counterindicated to evidenced heart failure patients.
