4. Action

Hypersensitivity to Gatifloxacin, pregnancy; breastfeeding; childhood under 18 years of age; diabetes.

Elderly age; compromised liver function; diseases of central nervous system, including the diseases predisposing to convulsion attacks.

Uncommanded administration of Gatifloxacin with other medications is strongly prohibited.

Allergic reactions: hives, angioedema, itching, bronchospasm, allergic shock.

On the part of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: excitement, anxious feeling, unrest, agitation, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness.
On the part of the skin: dry skin, rash, itching.
On the part of organs of the senses: vision disturbance, taste perversion, ringing in the ears.
Others: sometimes — cold fit, fever, water retention, perspiration, pains in the back and in the chest, high puffiness of the face or the limbs.
On the part of intestinal tract: colitis, dysphagia, and gingivitis, bad smell from the mouth, edema of the tongue, pseudomembranous colitis, intestinal and rectal bleedings.
On the part of respiratory system: bronchospasm, pains in the chest, hyperventilation.
On the part of cardio-vascular system: brachycardia, high arterial tension, tachycardia.
On the part of urogenital system: hematuria, metrorrhagia.
On the part of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: ataxia, convulsions, atrophy of personal identity, depression, hallucinations, feelings of hostility, hypersensitivity, migraine, panic attacks, euphoria.
On the part of locomotor system: arthritis, pains in the bones.
On the part of endocrine system: diabetes.
On the part of organs of the senses: loss of taste, pain in the ears and in the eyes.
Others: nausea, vaginitis, diarrhea, headache, alcohol intolerance, cyanosis, inflammation of lymph glands, pain in the neck, light dread, panting.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

Gatifloxacin is prohibited for the use during pregnancy (since the drug is poorly known in this sphere), in the period of lactation adoption of bottle feeding is needed.
