Ingredient: phenazopyridine hydrochloride

Dosage Form: Tablet: 100 mg; 200 mg (both dark maroon)
Use: Symptomatic relief of the burning and pain of urinary tract disorders
Minor Side Effects: Change in urine color; dizziness; headache; indigestion; nausea; stomach cramps; vomiting
Major Side Effects: Anemia; jaundice
Contraindications: This drug should not be taken by people who are allergic to phenazopyridine hydrochloride or by those who have severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor immediately if this drug has been prescribed for you and you fit into either category.
Warnings: This drug will cause your urine to become orange-red in color. Do not be alarmed by this side effect. The urine will return to its normal color soon after the drug has been discontinued.
• This drug should not be used for pain other than that associated with the urinary tract.
• Diabetics may get a false reading for sugar or ketones while using this drug.
• This drug may interfere with certain urine and blood laboratory tests.
Comments: Take this drug with at least a full glass of water. Drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily.
