3. Indications for Use.
Stopping of migraine attack with an aura or without it.
4. Action
Anti-migrain drug. The start of the performance in 30 minutes after intake.
5. Posology and Administration
In oral intake a single dose is 10 mg. If the headache resumes after the stopping of the first attack, Rizatriptan may be taken for the second time. The 24 hour’s dose is 30 mg, the interval between intakes should not be not less than 2 hours.
It is recommended to use Rizatriptan in a single dose of 5 mg, 24 hours dose should be not more than 15 mg in patients who receive Propranolol.
Efficiency of the second intake for the stopping of the same attack has not been studied in controlled investigations.
6. Counterindications
Simultaneous therapy or a period less than 2 weeks after the end of the treatment with MAO inhibitors; elevated arterial tension, coronary insufficiency, myocardial infarction, documented painless myocardial ischemia, stenocardia of Princemetal. Basilar and hemiplegic migraine. Age up to 18 years, excessive sensitivity to Rizatriptan.

Pregnancy, period of lactation.
8. Interface with Other Medications
Intake of the drug together with some kinds of medications may lead to severe after-effects. If you have taken the drug less than 2 weeks ago you should necessarily consult your doctor about the acceptability of use of Rizatriptan and about an option of the change of doses.

10. Side Effects
Some times there occur:
dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, undue fatigability, pain in breast, pain in stomach, heartbeat, tachycardia, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, diarrhea, digestive upset, thirst; pain in neck, rigidity, constrained movements, headache, unprompted bizarre benumbed sensation, creeping sensation and tingling, decrement of mental activity, insomnia, hypersensibility of skin to various irritators, tremor, loss of coordination, anxiety, disorientation, discomfort in throat, panting, skin hyperemia and itching; excessive sweating, nebulosity of vision, “flushes” to the face skin.
Seldom:
faintness, increase of AT.
11. Pregnancy and Lactation
There were no adequate and good controlled investigations on safety of Rizatriptan during pregnancy, that is why the use is possible only in cases of extreme necessity. It is not recommended to use in the period of lactation as it is unknown whether Rizatriptan passes into human milk.
