- Indications for Use.
Arterial hypertension, chronic heart failure.
- Action
Indapamide reduces contractility of smooth muscle fibers of vessels. It has a positive influence on the fall of blood tension.
- Posology and Administration
The drug should be taken orally 2,5 mg each or 1,5 mg each daily (Indapamide is likely to be taken in the morning).
After 2 weeks if hypotensive effect is imperfectly evidenced the dose should be increased up to 5-7.5 mg/daily.
The maximal dose: 10 mg/daily in 2 intakes (before noon).
Efficiency and safety in children has not been determined.
- Counterindications
Hypersensitivity, stroke, bad liver failure, decompensation diabetes, podagra, pregnancy and breastfeeding (during the treatment breastfeeding should be avoided).

Diabetes and podagra patients, likewise those who suffer from compromised kidney and liver function should take the drug with caution.

- Overdosing

Constipations or diarrhea, nausea, pain in the stomach, vomiting, loss of appetite, dry mouth. Nervousness, headache, dizziness, drowsiness or insomnia, depression, elevated fatigability, apathy, sickliness, spasm of muscles, strain, anxiety, irritancy. Pain in the breast, fall of potency and/or libido, decrease of the body mass. Allergic reactions: rash, hives, itches.

Pregnancy and Lactation
There have not been adequate and good controlled studies on the safety of Indapamide application in pregnancy and in lactation period. This class of patients is not recommended to use Indapamide.
