3. Indications for Use.

Infectious-inflammatory diseases, provoked by microorganisms, sensitive to Ceclor: disease of upper aerodigestive tracts and lower ones (including pneumonia), infections of urinary tracts, infections of the skin and soft tissues; otitis media, sinusitis, infections of bones and junctions (including osteomyelitis), endometritis, gonorrhea.

Pharmacologic performance is an antibacterial one (pluripotential antibacterial, bactericide remedy).

5. Posology and Administration

They are to be established individually in relation to the severity of the process and the localization of infection and the sensitivity of the causative agent.
Orally: to adults and adolescences - 0.25-0.5 g 3 times a day; in gonorrhea - 3 g single-shot. If needed the dose may be increased up to 4 g/daily. A dose for infants less than 1 month is not determined, for babies of 1 month and older it is determined 6.7-13.4 mg/kg every 8 hours or 10-20 mg/kg/daily every 12 hours. Maximal daily dose is 40 mg/kg, but not more than 1-1.5 g/daily. To babies and little children it is better to administer suspension. Tablets retard should be taken together with food or during 1 hour after meal. Average time duration of treatment is 7-10 days.

6. Counterindications

Hypersensitivity to antibiotics. Should be taken with caution in cases of chronic kidney failure, leucopenia, hemorrhagic syndrome, pregnancy, lactation, infancy (less than 1 month).

With caution the drug should be administered to patients with frank kidney dysfunction. Patients who have in anamnesis allergic reactions on penicilins may have hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics.

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

Allergic reactions: skin rash, skin itching, itching of genitals, hives, labored breathing, angioedema, conjunctivitis, states of unconsciousness. On the part of nervous system: agitation, anxiety, insomnia, dizziness, motion agitation, mental fog, hallucinations.
On the part of genitourinary system and that of excretory: vaginitis, renal dysfunction.
On the part of intestinal system: dysorexia, constipations, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, pain in the stomach, hepatitis, yellow sickness.
Others: dysfunction of blood formation and as a consequence of the blood composition, superinfection, high perspiration.

11. Pregnancy and Lactation

The use of Cefaclor in pregnancy is possible only in the cases when a supposed favor for the mother exceeds a potential risk for the fetus.
When needed the use of Cefaclor in the period of lactation breastfeeding should be stopped.
